SkillBack

Skillback is a mobile application built around short-form interactive experiences and competitive progression. During my time on the project, I worked as the sole Game Designer, taking ownership of the product experience from gameplay concepts and interface design to progression, visual direction, and production planning.

Project Breakdown

My Role

As the sole Game Designer, I was responsible for defining how the application worked as a complete product, with a strong focus on creating an experience that could remain engaging and financially sustainable over time.

My responsibilities extended beyond game design into UI/UX, visual direction, progression systems, QA, and production coordination, working closely with the development team to move features from concept to implementation.

Minigame & Systems Design

I designed more than 20 original minigame concepts, defining their rules, player interactions, difficulty progression, scoring, and replayability.

I also worked on broader systems including leaderboards, progression, rewards, and competitive features designed to connect individual minigames into a cohesive long-term experience.

UI/UX & Visual Direction

I designed the application's complete interface structure, including navigation flows, screens, menus, feedback states, and interaction logic.

My work also extended to the overall visual direction of the product, defining its style, animations, transitions, and presentation to maintain consistency across the entire application.

Production & Team Coordination

Alongside my design responsibilities, I took on a production role, organizing tasks, defining priorities, documenting features, and coordinating implementation across the team.

This required balancing design quality with development constraints, deadlines, and the commercial requirements of the product.

Outcome

The project gave me end-to-end responsibility over a complete mobile product, from individual gameplay mechanics to the systems, interface, presentation, and production structure surrounding them.

It strengthened my ability to make design decisions at both feature and product level while coordinating a multidisciplinary team through development.
