Viktor Stoneheart
Viktor Stoneheart is a psychological horror game created during the 7th CITM Game Jam. You play as a nightmare hunter who enters his clients’ dreams to confront their deepest fears through puzzles and eerie exploration.
This game was developed in just four days during the 7th CITM Game Jam, where the theme revolved around psychology, puzzles, dreams, and nightmares. Our team of five used Unity to bring the idea to life, and I took the lead on game design tasks, shaping both the level layout and the structure of the player's journey. You play as Viktor, a nightmare hunter who enters the minds of clients plagued by fear. The setting—a mysterious, dark house—becomes a metaphor for the subconscious, where the player must solve puzzles to advance deeper into the mind and cleanse it of its haunting memories.
I designed the full layout of Viktor’s house and every key puzzle within it, making sure that the psychological theme was present in every space and mechanic. I also crafted the narrative arc, wrote and recorded the introductory voiceover, and produced 2D artwork in Photoshop for certain assets, which were among the few custom visuals in the game.
One of the greatest challenges was technical—this was our first time working with Unity, and we had to learn quickly under pressure. On top of that, it was our first jam ever, so task delegation, time management, and scope control were skills we had to develop on the fly. Despite these obstacles, the final result was a cohesive and atmospheric horror experience with layered meaning and consistent tone.
This project taught me how to generate multiple puzzle concepts from a single narrative idea, how to build tension through audio and visuals, and how to ensure every room supports the emotional arc. It was a crash course in designing under constraints, and it sharpened my skills in delivering focused, emotionally charged gameplay moments.
